DIY Murphy Bed Mechanism PLUS Pre-cut Boards

Spring System, Metal Frame + Pre-Cut Boards: Build in 1/4 of the time. This is the easiest of the DIY kits. We take the mechanism kit, plans, and video and give you a BIG head start.  We pre-cut all parts, Drill most of the critical holes for the mechanism, and let you build it.

With the metal frame included, that save a hugh amont of time.  No need to build that now.  NOTE: You do need minor woodworking skills.  It is a little harder then putting together Ikea style furniture (your building this) See below for more info on pre-cut kits.

New! Did you purchase a Create-a-bed kits either from us or directly from them and decided not to build it yourself?  If you purchase one of our Pre-cut version or completed units we will give you full credit of the mechanism toward your new purchase.  It is good news in that you can now complete that bed that you bought that mechanism for and had not had time to start it,  It is also good because you can buy the mechanism at no risk.  If you fell that the mechanism only was too much for you to take on, then purchase the Pre-cut kit and we will give you credit.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How much will it cost to build my murphy bed?
We strongly recommend using veneered plywood to build your bed cabinet and solid wood for the inner wood bed frame. On  the kit only, the wood and other materials you'll need to purchase are all available at your local home improvement store and will cost around $400 to $500 depending on the size bed you are building. The Pre-cut version the wood comes with the kit.

How long will it take to build my bed and what tools will I need?
For the kit only, it takes the average person about 20 hours to build a murphy bed using basic tools that include a skill or circular saw, jigsaw, drill with drill and driver bits, and a tape measure.  When you purchase the Pre-cut board we give you a huge head start.

What kind of mattress do I use with my murphy bed?
This system is designed to use a standard innerspring mattress of up to 12 inches thick without a box spring. The correct weight range for your mattress is called out in your construction book.

How much woodworking skills do I need? Not much for the alpine.  For the most part if you know how to work saws and drills and read a tape measure, you can build this.  There is a DVD to help you along the way and if you need further help, I can always be contacted.  I've built hundreds of these.  chris@wwbeds.com

Can I build any other styles besides the Alpine? Yes,  The instructions are for the Alpine, but the main difference in each style is  the face panel.  Some style just require adding some molding to that panel, some require that it be replaced with something different.  I can hand write some instruction modifications if you'd like to build other versions.  BONUS OFFER: As a bonus I am sending a supplement to build our Hudson Bay. (Make sure you ask for it when ordering)

What if I need help during the building process? My name is Chris and I am the building and designer of most of the beds you see.  If you have any questions contact me chris@wwbeds.com  or 501-753-9699.

What sizes does the kit build? You can build twin, full, or queen in both the vertical and horizontal directions.  I will need to know at the time of ordering what size and direction of bed you'd like.

After I buy the mechanism can I upgrade to the pre-cut? Yes, if you get to the point that you don't have the time to build it from scratch, you can still purchase pre-cut version without the mechanism.  You can even purchase one of our completed units and we'll give you a credit for the entire price of the mechanism including shipping.

There are so many piece to that pre-cut, how will I ever keep them straight? We individually label each piece and hardware pack so that there are no confusion during the building process.
