    DIY Pre-Cut Murphy Bed Instructions

    These intructions are to be used with our pre-cut murphy beds.  If you have any qustions be sure to let us know.  

    Step 3 | Header

    Here is the first part you have to build. Here is what we've already done for you.  

    • Cut and ripped the 5 pieces

    • Edgebanded Front Rail and Rear Rails

     

    Cutlist for the Header:

    [Twin]

    2-2 3/4" x 41 3/8" (Front/Rear Rail)

    1-14 3/8" x 41 3/8" (Headerboard)

    2 -1 1/2" x 41 3/8" Mounting Cleats

    New leg add 2" on the width.

     

    [Full]

    2-2 3/4" x 56 3/8" (Front/Rear Rail)

    1-14 3/8" x 56 3/8" (Headerboard)

    2 -1 1/2" x 14 3/8" Mounting Cleats

    New leg add 2" on the width.

     

    [Queen]

    2-2 3/4" x 62 3/8" (Front/Rear Rail)

    1-14 3/8" x 62 3/8" (Headerboard)

    2 -1 1/2" x 14 3/8" Mounting Cleats

    New leg add 2" on the width.

    Tip: Take some scrap wood and screw it to the back of the header (side with the screws) while you finish it.  This will allow you to finish both sides at the same time.

    Step 3a: Mounting the rear rail to the Headerboard.

    Using the five suppled 2" screws pre-drill and screw the rear rail to the headboard while mataining a 1/2" lip under the headerboard. 

     

    NOTE: Be sure to drill pilot holes and counter sink screws 

    flush with wood. 

    Step 3b: Mounting the Front Rail to the Headerboard.

    Using suppled five 2" nails, glue and nail the Front Rail onto the Headerboard. 

    Step 3c: Attaching Mounting Cleats

    Using four 2" screws provided, glue and nail the Mounting Cleat onto each side of the Headerboard. 

     

    NOTE: Be sure to drill pilot holes and counter sink screws 

    flush with wood.
