We recently finished a stunning Murphy bed project that is headed to a customer in Charleston, South Carolina - and this one blends modern entertainment with timeless craftsmanship.
Built from rich Maple wood and finished with a smooth White Lacquer, this Murphy bed is designed to look like an elegant entertainment center when closed. On the front, we mounted a 55" Samsung Frame TV paired with an HW-S60D Sound Bar, creating a sleek, functional centerpiece that saves space without sacrificing style.

To complete the design, we added two 18 1/2" wide bookcases on each side of the bed. Each bookcase includes adjustable wood shelving up top for display or storage, and a lower cabinet door with a pullout drink tray - perfect for convenience and entertaining.
We also installed LED Inset Murphy bed lights, which operate only when the bed is lowered. The lights are controlled by a touch dimmer with both high and low brightness settings. That adjustment is controlled by a touch plate on the headboard. There is also a tilt switch that ensures that the lights automatically turn off when the bed is raised - a thoughtful detail that adds both safety and sophistication.
To finish off the look, we added Mission-style Crown and Base Molding, giving the unit a classic, built-in appearance that feels right at home in any upscale living space.
This project is a great example of how a custom Murphy bed can offer both functionality and beauty - transforming a single room into a multi-purpose space that's perfect for modern living. Here is a video of how this style works:
