Have some wooodworking skills and want to save some money?  With this kit we take the CAB Murphy Bed Mechanism and give you a HUGE head start.  We will cut all the pieces out for you, band the edges that need to be edged, bore most of the holes (especially those critical holes for the mechanism), and then final sand the pieces.

Basic to Intermediate skill level is required.  This will make one similar to our Contempo murphy bed.  See our Contempo page for more finished examples.

One of the major benefits we have above our competitor is we do the edge banding for you.  Our competitor has you do this with an iron.  We apply the edge tape for you on a dedicated machine the ensure quality.

Murphy Bed Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions are listed questions and answers.

Can you do custom sizes?

Yes we can.  Supply us with your measurements and we will design one to fit your space.  We even will work with your contractor if you want more of a built in look.

I've seen some that use particle board with a fake wood grain over it.  Do you use that?

No, we don't even offer that as an option.  That is melamine and is very heavy.  In fact we don't use anything with particle board.

What if I want more of a built in look?

There are things we can do to make that happen.  First we build the bookcases with a scribe molding.  Without going into too much detail it helps the piece fit in the corner better.  We then supply some trim pieces to help finish it out. Other things that we do will be to leave the crown and base molding long and let you cut it down.  There are ways we can accomplish this with the level of comfort you have in woodworking.  Contact us for more details.  If you need some examples let me know.

I see oak and maple a lot on your site. Do you offer any other type of wood?

Yes, everything is totally custom and we can use whatever wood that is available.  We've used Mahogany, Walnut, Cherry, Tamo Ash, Lacewood, Figured Maple.

What if I don't know how to choose a color?

We have a color page that has the common colors from Minwax on them.  This may give you a starting point.  We can always mail out a real sample (colors can vary from monitor to monitor).  Also we can match your existing furniture.  If you have a shelf, drawer or anything you can send to use, we will match it.
