Custom Bookcase/Side Cabinet: Shredder Pullout
Our commitment to customization shines in this unique project with the Murphy bed Bookcases. The customer had a specific request: to incorporate a shredder into one of the lower sections. They preferred not to hide it behind a door and aimed for a balanced look between the two sides of the cabinet. To achieve this, we designed a shredder pullout with a double row of false drawer fronts. This clever solution allowed the shredder to sit in shortened drawers for easy access. Additionally, we provided power access at the back of the cabinet for the customer's convenience.
Custom Bookcase/Side Cabinet: Double Door
The printer compartment posed an interesting challenge. The bookcases needed to fit a specific wall width, which made the printer's placement a bit snug in the cabinet. While the design called for two doors, the second hinge would take up too much space. Our solution was to craft a single door that, when closed, gave the illusion of two doors but opened like a single door. It combined aesthetics with practicality seamlessly.
Custom Outlets
For enhanced functionality, we integrated electrical outlets throughout the project. You can find them in the bookcase/side cabinets, the shredder compartment, and beneath the desk. The side cabinet outlets feature one 110v plug, a standard USB, and a USB-C fast charger, while the outlet under the desk offers two 110v plugs and a standard USB port.
Custom Crown and Base
To elevate the overall look, we adorned this project with our Standard Style Crown and Base molding. To add visual interest and break the monotony of a straight crown run, we set back the side cabinets by 1", creating a beautifully faired effect for the crown molding.
